Meet the Team - Danielle le Cornu

Introducing Danielle le Cornu, Marketing Manager, Landmark Estate Agency Services

Danielle has been with Metropix literally from the very beginning. After completing a degree in Marketing and Communications in South Africa, she moved to England with her family in Feb 2001. She and her mother ran an Event Management company called Rainbow Connections, specialising in corporate hospitality and golf days.

However, after a couple of years, the long and antisocial hours no longer suited Danielle who wanted to find more of a work/life balance.

It just so happened that a friend of her mum, Brian Farrell, who founded Metropix in 2005 with Max Christian, was looking for someone to help service their new customer base with day-to-day support and staff training. So Danielle joined the co-founders in early 2006 and the rest is history. 

At first, they worked out of Brian’s home office, with a small satilite office in Soho as the team grew. Metropix, being a very early adopter of home-working, grew very quickly and so had their team dotted around the country. And as the team grew, so did Danielle's role within the company and she was promoted to Operations Manager in 2007.

“Emma, Peter and Steve were some of the original members, and we’re all still here today!” says Danielle. “We all worked from home, but we got to know each other really well, and that’s one thing that made Metropix so special and it didn’t take long for us to become the market leader in the floor plan space, where we continue to compete to this day.”


New challenges.

Landmark Information Group bought Metropix in 2008 but given the floor planning software was already doing so well, they didn’t make any major changes. 

In 2015, Danielle went on maternity leave to have her twin girls. She returned the following year to manage a number of projects for new products until, in 2019, she was offered the opportunity to move back into the marketing space and became Marketing Manager for the Estate Agency Services division.

“It was a really exciting new challenge. It was great timing because my children were a few years old, so I had the capacity to take on something new and was ready for a challenge. I always enjoyed being in the marketing space. That said, it was a steep learning curve, but it’s been brilliant!”

“I love the variety. On any given day I could be doing any one of a number of things. I create our cross-channel marketing campaigns and carry out anything from customer prospecting emails to direct marketing pieces, to managing all the logistics for the large-scale industry events we attend. It's fast paced and I learn something new every day!"

“Being a Project Manager in a number of my early carrier roles has certainly helped, as Marketing requires a lot of organisation! From the conception of a campaign to logistics, copy, all the way through to completion... it’s my responsibility to ensure it all comes together at the right time, often working to tight deadlines too!”


From the beginning and into the future.

“I really enjoy my job. Having been with Metropix since day dot, I’ve been fortunate enough to have a good career path throughout this time. I owe that to the people that I’ve worked with. I've learned so much over this time and got where I am because I worked with good people.

I think the key is not being micromanaged. My managers have been instrumental in helping me progress by allowing me to challenge myself, make mistakes and learn from them… and of course it's lead to the opportunity to move back into marketing. I do love it. It may sound corny, but our team really are like a family. We’ve all been through a lot together, especially over this last year and it’s been a real group effort when it comes to the successes we've had... and I really enjoy making a difference as part of that."

"As for my aspirations for the future? I’m always looking for those marginal gains. We are a company all about the marginal gains, looking to improve things wherever we can and make a real difference for our customers.
